Very poor experience with after care Multiple extended cracks in polished concrete. Chips where multiple stones have come out. Unsightly. Sent someone around to repair it with something similar to putty, it is a product that can be picked out of the cracks and is not hard. Told they won’t be doing further repairs despite the terrible unsightly condition of the flooring (I paid for an upgrade to polished concrete). Beware when building through them as their aftercare is extremely poor. The concrete repair person attended using a walking frame to walk. Additionally water leaks in the front foyer I’ve been told aren’t water leaks due to no mould. Plasterer wouldn’t repair due to them being water damage. If you touch it the plaster breaks away. Apparently it’s my job to figure out where the leak is; getting into the roof to look for it is too difficult for them due to it being a flat roof…. They designed the house! Will be taking the matter further via MBA but I’m attaching photos so that people considering building through this company can see what they might get.

Let me preface this review by saying that I am a registered builder and work as a private building consultant. I found working with GJ Gardner Bendigo a terrible experience, the sales team were everything that you would expect from a sales team, but the minute you sign the contract it all went down hill from there. We built a custom designed home, but the person who brought our concept up to working drawing stage was not an architect, so the attention to detail was missing, from then on each mistake that was made, the excuse was "oh he is just a draughtsman I wouldn't expect him to see the detail" so work arounds needed to be found to mitigate the mistakes that were made, to try and make the best of a very poor outcome, they even had some of their trades make decisions on finishes without consulting us. I have never met a builder who works so hard against their client. I have never met a builder who is so willing to accept Ok as their standard. There were extended periods of time that they weren't on site. The specifications that they wrote weren't followed on particular sections where we wanted specific details, when those instances were picked up, they just stopped working in those areas, again for extended periods of time. I cannot recommend GJ Gardner Bendigo at all. If you build with them, try and have someone on your side to make sure the builder does the right thing.

We are building our second home with GJ Gardner Homes Bendigo, they are actually locally owned so we were more comfortable that if we needed help or follow up we could just head into the office or speak with the same staff every time. When designing our homes we found they were very flexible and helpful and most importantly for our Family they do fixed priced quotes and contracts. Highly recommend!
